DESCRIPTION

Director of Central Maine Programs

Woodfords Family Services is seeking a Program Director for its Central Maine Programs. This is a managment position responsible for the operation of our Oakland and Topsham Preschools and our Case Management and In-Home Support Services in Manchester. Woodfords is seeking a candidate with a Masters Degree in special education, applied behavior analysis, social work or a related field plus experience in human services program management. Experience providing educational or clinical services to children with developmental delays, autism and related diagnoses is required. Experience in human resources and/or financial management will also be considered as assets.

DUTIES

1. Manage operations in Woodfords programs located in Oakland, Topsham and Manchester, including Preschool, In-Home Support and Case Management services located at those sites, including overall responsibility for budget, payroll, training, orientation, recruitment, billing and service coordination.

2. Supervise department staff to insure the delivery of a service that is clinically, programmatically and fiscally viable.

3. To be a primary liaison between the site and the Agency's primary office to address issues related to Human Resources, Fiscal, Quality Improvement and Development.

4. Manage site facility issues to insure the maintenance of standards that meet licensing requirements and essential environment quality needs for employees and consumers.

5. Ensure timely licensure for all programs.

6. In conjunction with the Director of Quality Improvement work with site program staff to insure the acquisition and maintenance of COA accreditation.

7. Upon request, be prepared to make public presentation about Woodfords' programs and services.

8. Serve as a member of the Woodfords Management Team.

9. Develop a local Advisory Committee to assist in providing prudent direction in the development of services for the communities served by the site.

10. In conjunction with the Human Resources and Training Departments, promote staff enrichment and advancement.

11. When requested, participate in meetings of the Board of Trustees either in person or by conference call. This is to insure input on corporate decisions that impact the operations of the sites.

12. To work with various provider groups and municipalities to insure positive relationships, as well as collaborative initiatives.

13. In conjunction with the Director of Quality Improvement, work with employees, families and consumers to ensure appropriate levels of input regarding program development and satisfaction with agency services.

14. When requested, work with various Quality Improvement Committees (QICs) or Board/Employee Committees to insure appropriate site-specific issues are not overlooked.

15. In Conjunction with the Executive Director, coordinate programs offered in Central Maine with those offered at other Agency sites.

16. Actively support Woodfords Family Services' fundraising endeavors.

17. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Must possess a Masters' degree in special education, social work, applied behavior analysis or other related human services field and have at least 3 years' experience working with individuals with disabilities and their families

OR

A Bachelors' degree in one of the above related fields plus a minimum of five years' experience working with individuals with disabilities and their families.

2. At least two years' successful experience in program management.

3. Knowledge and experience in budgetary, human resources and other administrative roles.

4. Must be knowledgeable about regulatory guidelines for programs located within the site.

5. Must be able to function semi-independently to maximize program development and innovation.

6. Must possess good organization, communication and human relation skills.

7. Must possess the mental, physical and emotional health to carry to manage stress and demands of the position.
