The Volunteers In Medicine Clinic provides high quality medical and health services for workers who cannot afford health care or who cannot qualify for government assistance. VIM provides the facilities, organizational structure, and management, so that volunteering medical professionals can conveniently provide medical services in a welcoming and non-judgmental environment.

Physician Assistant (part time 32-hrs per week, compensation/benefits)
As a collaborative team member, this position supports the philosophy of providing quality professional care for patient's medical, physical and psychosocial needs. In addition, this position promotes behavior change in lifestyle and medication adherence to maximize health status of patients. Principle duties include: Obtain patient's medical and psychosocial history; perform physical and emotional assessments; provide needed procedures and continually assess patient's needs and conducts follow up; performs minor procedures; orders screening and diagnostic testing, pharmacological and durable goods; and counsels patients regarding general physical and emotional concerns.
Requirements: Current active Oregon Physician Assistant license certification, with national prescriptive drug privileges with a DEA number; Minimum two years experience as a Physician Assistant in a general medical field ' primary care preferred; Ability to lead, train volunteers, and provide patient education; Ability to work some flexible hours, and Excellent communication and interpersonal skills needed.
