The Compliance Systems Manager is responsible for the implementation, security and maintenance of a secure file system, which stores data subject to different requirements like HIPPA and/or FISMA. This position is also responsible for the security of the data, risk assessment planning and implementation, protocols, policies, audits and monitoring of events and activities.
Experience developing and maintaining highly technical documentation
Risk management assessment, planning and implementations
Proven record of establishing and maintaining close working relationships with research groups
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 5 years experience in system administration under Linux and Windows or equivalent academic training
Knowledge hardware and software configuration and deployment
Expert knowledge of secure network services
Ability to independently and collaboratively analyze and develop recommendations for systems to support future computing needs and to advise on hardware and software requirements, server use, and upgrades.
Proficiency installing, operating, and maintaining a variety of network services.
Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to prepare documentation, give tutorials, communicate with the community, etc.
Designs, configures, integrates, operates, deploys, and maintains servers for services such as network file systems, clusters, compute servers, licenses, etc.
Maintains proper security on secure file servers and VMs
Remains current with new technology and proposes changes to computing systems and policy to improve efficiency, security, and reliability.
Troubleshoots complex computing problems, often working directly with a diverse campus community of faculty, staff, students and researchers.
Manages relationships with equipment and software vendors for the delivery of systems hardware, software and support.
Performs user account administration for a diverse campus community of students, faculty and staff, including quotas, account creation, access control, etc.
Works with sensitive data under HIPAA and/or FISMA regulations
Experience in data architecture, organization, data management, and data wrangling
Project management experience
