This posistion will support the Department of Veterans Services Virginia Wounded Warrior Program (VWWP) in the development, design, integration, management, and support of their website system. This position will serve to facilitate communication and coordination of website support services for the VWWP and will independently provide administration and technical support for these systems. She/he will work with the VWWP team to capture technical and non-technical requirements to facilitate creating a set of comprehensive and effective plans and actions for developing and maintaining a high quality website. This position will also serve to assist the Department of Veterans Services (DVS) IT Director and the DVS IT department with duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Significant and relevant experience with website design and administration.

Advanced knowledge of XHTML, CSS, and use of digital imaging and illustration with Adobe Photoshop, QuarkXPress, and Illustrator.

Knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, PHP and dynamic HTML; experience with Macromedia Flash.

Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (i.e., Firefox, Safari, etc.)

Extensive experience working on PC and Mac platforms.

Extensive knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques, with a strong portfolio displaying user-centered design and experience with web database solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference given to veterans provided they meet all state requirements.

Information Technology degree preferred or significant equivalent applicable experience.
