Specific Job Description Flight Test Engineer at Patuxent River NAS, Maryland, for STOVL variant Mission Systems test aircraft (BF-5) on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program. Duties and responsibilities include directing, coordination and completion of planning tasks; scheduling and conduct of ground and flight test missions as Test Conductor or Director in accordance with JSF processes and operating procedures to execute SDD flight test program schedule and goals. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling flight test mission requirements with responsible engineers and aircraft controlling agencies. Duties include but are not limited to: developing and maintaining flight test support materials and mission flight test profiles; developing and publishing test plans, flight test cards, test schedules and test procedures for unmanned air vehicle testing; coordinating with other organizations to ensure safe and effective execution of ground and flight test activities. Interface with Air Vehicle design and analysis functions to develop test and test data requirements. Identify and coordinate the availability of test facilities and test ranges with company, subcontractor, and government agencies. Conduct ground and flight tests in accordance with established test plans and procedures. Participate in post-test data evaluation and problem identification and resolution. Prepare and publish test summaries and test reports.
