VP Fair Lending
The Fair Lending Officer is responsible for driving and implementing the Bank’s strategy for the promotion, enhancement and oversight of the enterprise-wide Fair Lending Program. The Fair Lending Officer promotes an organizational culture that ensures compliance with ECOA, FHA, and their implementing regulations. He/she supports the Chief Compliance Officer with managing the Bank’s Fair Lending Program and reporting to executive management on the progress and status of fair lending-related objectives and initiatives.
Lead Fair Lending Unit by building a governance program that provides a platform for exchange of information with business lines and functional groups to promote appropriate fair lending policy and procedure direction.
Perform analysis of the Bank’s various lending portfolios and activities to identify trends, emerging issues, gaps for business improvement. Analysis may include comparative file reviews, studies, regression analysis, risk assessments, fallout reports, and peer analysis.
Build strong partnerships across the organization, and collaborate effectively within business lines to provide advice on all matters involving fair lending, federal banking regulations, and compliance.
Provide advice on design of business line’s fair lending-related controls, quality of risk management, and assurance programs. Reviews results and advises on program enhancements.
Monitor business line processes, including relevant CRA and HMDA data, that identifies fair lending issues/potential weaknesses, and proactively recommends appropriate changes to existing programs and processes as needed.
Ensure identified deficiencies are promptly addressed and resolved; and oversees the data tracking process for these issues.
Oversee the coordination of the annual corporate Fair Lending training.
Bachelors Degree required. MBA a plus.
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
8+ years of previous compliance experience with progressively more responsibility and exposure to senior and executive level management, including at least 5+ years of experience in Fair Lending and in a significant leadership role.
Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with others at all levels across the organization.
Familiarity with Fair Lending-related legislation and best practices.
Established analytical and quantitative skills, including effective data analysis and investigative problem solving.
Ability to quickly assimilate information relating to complex issues, maintain poise, diplomacy, and the ability to use discretion when making decisions, be creative and innovative in problem solving, and exercise good judgment.
Effectively provide solutions and direction, multi-task, excellent time and resource management skills, work independently, problem solve, and deliver results.
