Job Description:
Performs the necessary duties to provide quality care to all animals utilized in research. Provides medical care to animals used in support of lab project goals. Responsible to Animal Facility Lead, Manager-Comparative Medicine, Veterinary Consultants, and administrative staff.
Basic Qualifications:
Associates degree in Veterinary Technology, Veterinary Technologist State Certification with two years experience with lab animal species required.
Other Qualifications:
Certification as Laboratory Animal Technician or Laboratory Animal Technologist through the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science is desirable. Must be able to follow oral and written directions. Must have the ability to organize and carry out medical and surgical techniques independently. Good manual dexterity and must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays. Must be able to work well with others.
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Hours/Pay Period: 16
Schedule Details: Monday and Friday; 8:00 a.m.- 5 p.m.
