- Partners with senior sales management in business development duties including development of business plans and capture plans, client and competitor intelligence gathering, coordination of and participation in national conferences, and teaming with other firms for specific pursuits.
- Coordinates firm wide initiatives as assigned, including external and internal-focused marketing initiatives (CRMS, SPIN, etc.). Duties may include conducting meetings to discuss new market initiatives, strategy development and development of business plans for market penetration, new service development, coordinating client strategy plans, and/or development of white papers on proposed initiatives.
Education: Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, Business or English
Experience: Minimum 8 years of related experience, including at least 3 years of supervisory or management experience. Must have at least one year of facilitation experience.
Training: Business Development Process Models (e.g. Wins, Miller-Heiman, Dag Knudsen); formal meeting facilitation training.
Proficiencies: Demonstrated expertise with the Wins process; proficiency with strategy development and the Wins process; ability to develop technical approaches, management plans, and/or cost strategies for major proposals; proven ability to implement new programs, strategic initiatives, and/or business plans; must demonstrate knowledge of all areas of CDM Smith’s core and specialty service areas.
Environmental Factors for Job Family: Job involves regular use of personal computer and ability to recognize and manipulate images and keys. Work is frequently performed under rigid time constraints where a narrow margin for errors or delays is allowed. Job involves a high level of crisis management and requires ability to organize and negotiate on project schedules and tracking. Job may involve occasional heavy lifting of display materials.
