The purpose of the Alumni College Advising Program (ACAP) Program Coordinator position is to serve as the front line communicator, liaison, systems manager and gatekeeper between the families (alumni and their children) working with ACAP and the Director of the ACAP and any additional counseling staff. This position requires an individual with a strong commitment to customer service, strong sense of organization, proven capacity to develop and implement program management administrative systems, acute attention to detail and transparency, ability to work independently while being a core member of the ACAP team and think creatively in relation to ACAP while appreciating the larger goals of Alumni Relations, Advancement and the University.
Bachelors degree and 1-2 years relevant experience. Excellent customer relations skills and mature judgment. Strong communication and writing skills: assertive, savvy communicator, able to appropriately handle high volume of calls potentially sensitive in nature. Full competence in word processing and database software. Sensitivity to and understanding of issues that affect the participation of people of color in alumni affairs and services; commitment to access for and outreach to these communities. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to multitask and work independently. Knowledge of and experience with secondary schools and higher education and/or the selective college admission process a plus.
