Wall Street Communications (www.wallstcom.com), the leading public relations agency serving broadcast equipment, home theater, and other B2B electronic media clients, is seeking an account executive to join our headquarters team in Salt Lake City . We’re looking for candidates with at least 2 years of experience in technology marketing communications or PR, preferably in or related to our target markets. Less experienced candidates with superior educational credentials will also be considered.
Key skills include the ability to quickly grasp the significance and applications of high technology products and then write about them in press releases and marketing collateral; strong project management skills; the ability to work proactively with minimal supervision and learn by long distance; and the ability to be a team player on an agency team whose other members may be located in other time zones and countries.
Superior writing and verbal communications skills are required, and all candidates will be required to take proofreading and writing tests. Foreign language reading skills and international business experience are highly desirable. Occasional travel to clients and trade shows is required.

Job description summary:
Maintains written summary of ongoing projects discussed in weekly or biweekly teleconference with client
Participates in weekly or biweekly teleconference with client to review status of current projects and initiate new projects
Assigns writing tasks to agency writers and manages their completion and approval by account manager and client
Writes press releases during peak or vacation periods of writing staff
Obtains written client approval (and approval from client customers, when appropriate) of all agency work products that will be distributed to the press or other third parties
For clients for whom contracted services include media relations, monitors editorial calendars for publicity opportunities, interfaces with editors to obtain story placements, and maintains up-to-date media contact information in agency’s contact database
For clients for whom contracted services include speaking engagements, monitors calls for papers at industry conferences and drives the paper proposal and final paper submission process to meet conference deadlines
Reviews press clip compilations prepared for the client and informs the client when they are available for download from the agency Web site
Reports any problem areas to Account Manager for resolution
Qualifications: College degree or equivalent experience is preferred; BA/BS in English, journalism, communications, marketing or other applicable field At least 2 years experience at a hi-tech PR agency or in marcom department for hi-tech company
Understanding of essential elements of effective marketing communications campaigns (collateral, PR, advertising, direct marketing, Web, social media, etc.) Highly developed writing, editing and proofreading abilities Willing to travel (max 1 or 2 trips per year)
Preferred Additional Skills: Demonstrated success, with growing levels of responsibility, at global, business-to-business technology companies (cable/satellite television system vendors highly desirable) Demonstrated problem-solving skills, independent when appropriate Development, writing, editing and proofreading of professional marketing materials Customer focused Experience using scheduling and software programs in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Demonstrated verbal communication and facilitation skills
