BASIC FUNCTION: The purpose of this position is to assist in the administration of processes and procedures associated with compliance issues related to NCAA, MEAC and Howard University rules and regulations. Works directly with the Associate Athletic Director of Compliance and the Assistant Director of Compliance in all areas of NCAA, MEAC and Howard University compliance.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Upholds and ensures compliance with rules and regulations of the NCAA, MEAC and the University; remains current on changes in rules and regulations.Monitors coaches and teams compliance with NCAA playing and practice season legislation, recruiting activities, team travel and prospects; official and unofficial visits.Secures releases for potential incoming transfers and facilitates releases of outgoing transfers.Collects information provided by student-athletes on check-in forms.Inputs, updates and manages data in NCAA Compliance Assistant (CAI) software.Prepares all educational resources and documentation for and assists in execution of all team check-in and check-out meetings.Coordinates mailings to student-athletes, parents, donors, businesses, etc.Coordinates preparation of compliance publications (e.g. Compliance Manual, Donor Guide, etc.).Collects records and monitors for compliance all recruiting documentation from coaches.Assists with development of educational materials for meetings with coaches, staff and student-athletes.Assists in maintenance of student-athlete files as well as compliance office filling system.Assists with preparation of required NCAA forms.Creates and maintains databases of information collected from coaches.Performs other related duties as assigned.CORE COMPETENCIES: Basic knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.Ability and desire to perform accurate detail-oriented work manage multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor.Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.Ability to understand, follow and enforce NCAA, MEAC and University rules and regulations.Proficiency in computer skills and relevant software applications.Ability to foster a cooperative environment.Ability to work evenings and weekends.Ability to travel as required.
