CADD Administrator (Administrator IV) 2589
SALARY: $49,638.00 - $78,208.00 (Grade 19) CLOSING DATE: May 21, 2012
DESCRIPTION: The CADD Administrator will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and total quality management of CADD delivery systems and end products (drawings) and for electronic data management. The position will also be responsible for development and annual upgrade of comprehensive utility infrastructure base maps for all marine terminals, including migrations of base map data into GIS system.
The current vacancy exists at the Maryland Port Administration (MPA) in Baltimore Maryland. The list of eligibles compiled for this recruitment may be used to fill similar vacancies.
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of the principles and practices of CADD/GIS systems; knowledge of professional civil and construction engineering principles, practices and methods; knowledge in preparing accurate plans, specifications, cost estimates and engineering reports; skill in preparing narrative reports and feasibility studies of information technology alternatives; ability to communicate effectively and to establish and maintain effective working relationship with peers, users, vendors, and industry specialists. Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an Engineering discipline**
Experience: Five (5) years of experience in professional engineering. One (1) year of this experience must have involved one or more of the following: the supervision of other employees, overseeing and coordinating the general operations of a unit, applying rules and regulations, or exercising responsibility for the development of polices or procedures. Three (3) years of the required experience must include experience as a user of Microstation CADD-related software or quality review of CADD drawings for conformance to regulatory codes and standards.**

1. Additional experience in professional Engineering work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Additional graduate level education in Engineering at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year-to-year basis for the required general experience. The selective qualifications demonstrating three (3) years of CADD experience is still required.

LICENSE: Employees in this position may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employee assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
