Responsible for the development and implementation of tactical strategy in all areas of Materials (Planning and forecasting of Direct/Indirect Materials for current and new products, Implementation of Logistics strategy). Evaluate materials and develop processes to manufacture materials for use in engine products that must meet specialized design and performance specifications.
Manage Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process for assigned manufacturing lines by developing, communicating and implementing planning strategies that are consistent with long term business objectives. Drive Materials Functional excellence in providing excellent customer service. Set targets for key materials measures and implement processes to ensure targets are met. Provide guidance to the inventory forecasting process and drive improvements to the planning process by performing inventory management and material flows, including excess/obsolete, shrink, and cycle count and safety stock strategy. Coach and support the Materials team in achieving the key measures. Develop skills in the team to meet future challenges.
Improve systems and processes to ensure material is available timely in the correct location for all internal and external customers applying principles of Six Sigma methodologies, Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban. Improve the quality of material availability and inventory turns by utilizing experience with Six Sigma (DMAIC) to reduce demand and supply variation. Manage New Product Transitions and Product Obsolescence. Maintain Budget Controls on Dept. Expense Items. Interface with departments to ensure efficient material management. Guide team on configuring and deploying ERP
nterprise Resource Planning) software, implement upgrades, and develop business intelligence tools and reports, provide super users training to end users. Manage materials and supply chain initiatives by undertaking inventory management, Safety Stock Planning, Supplier Performance Improvement, warehousing and material flow principles to improve on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, on-time to start, build complete and inventory days. Support and participate in current I.T. Implementation Projects.
Experience and Education:
Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 1 year of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Supply Chain Engineer or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Supply Chain Engineer or related position.
