Water Safety Instructor introduces and instructs all levels of swimming and appropriate strokes. Works directly under the supervision of the Aquatics Manager.

This annoucement is being used to fill vacancies as they become available. Applications will be referred by first come first serve date order, the first cut-off will be February 1,2013 .

This announcement is being used to fill multiple positions, to include Regular Full-time, Regular-Partime, and Flexible (A Flexible employee is one who has been appointed to serve in a continuing position or time limited and who is on call or scheduled for a specific number of hours each administrative workweek).

KEY REQUIREMENTS

WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED.
FIRST AID CERTIFICATION REQUIRED.
CARDIO-PULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) CERTIFICATION REQUIRED.
Direct Deposit is required.
Social Security card is required.

Physical required after selection. DUTIES:
Manages and instructs swimming lessons at various aquatic facilities. Develops swimming programs according to the students' ability and promotes students to a higher level of swimming according to their skills. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING CERTIFICATIONS:
Water Safety Instructor Certification

Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification

First Aid Certification

(Certificates issued by American Red Cross, Ellis & Associates, Star Guard or other nationally recognized agencies are acceptable)

Highly Desirable: Possession of a Lifeguard Certification

Conditions of Employment:
1. A one-year probationary period may be required upon selection.

2. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies: Minimal Qualifications, Highly Preferred,

Knowledge of swimming facility rules, work procedures, and equipment, Ability to communicate orally, Knowledge of water safety instruction and swimming.

Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid experience or volunteer work. BENEFITS:

Nonappropriated Funds (NAF) Regular positions include the following NAF Benefits: Annual and Sick leave, Retirement Plan and 401(k) Plan, Health and Life Insurance, Long Term Care Plan Insurance and Flexible Spending Account.

Nonappropriated Funds (NAF) Flexible employees are not eligible for benefits at this time.

Conversion of employment category (from Flexible to Regular Part-Time or Full-Time) may be accomplished without further competition in accordance with AR 215-3.
