Posting Job Description
Time Warner Cable's East Region Construction department currently seeks a Construction Coordinator for our Kannapolis, NC area location. Please find below a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.


The purpose of this position is to be responsible for all phases of cable construction in a manner consistent with Time Warner Cable policies, procedures, quality work standards, customer needs, and applicable local, state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Directs all phases of construction projects
Strand mapping, make-ready payment and completion, overseeing design of projects, assuring permits are applied for and received on time, scheduling and supervision of actual construction, etc
Ride out to determine best way to build area (ie underground, overhead, which pole line, including assessment of feasibility to utilize local utility poles with minimum costs
QC's construction projects in progress and monitors contractors activities on a daily basis

Pole applications:

Ensures that poles are applied for promptly and that proper forms and procedures are followed
Monitors and verifies contractor compliance of safety procedures to include:
OSHA, SCDOT and NESC standards, as documented in the TWC Construction Standards
Promptly and accurately provides necessary reports such as budgetary and weekly production reports

Qualifications/Skill Set:

Ability to read and write in English and use arithmetic skills accurately to complete daily paperwork required
Knowledge of aerial and underground construction required
Knowledge of NESC required
Ability to climb ladders as well as gaff telephone/utility poles, and operate bucket truck required
Ability to take initiative and handle various tasks simultaneously while working efficiently, effectively, and independently under minimal supervision required
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to analyze and solve problems in a constantly changing work environment
Strong trouble shooting and decision- making skills
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
Ability to be neat with self, as well as with equipment/company vehicle, and conducts self in a respectable, responsible, courteous manner required
Ability to work hours outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification required
Knowledge of state and local municipality codes and requirements preferred

Education and Experience:
Associate's degree in Business, Engineering or related field and three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Legal/Financial Responsibilities:
Requires adherence to Time Warner Standards of Business Conduct. Position must assist in maintaining the confidentiality of customer and business data at all times.

Travel Requirements:
Valid North Carolina driver's license and compliance with Time Warner Cable's vehicle safety operations policy required
Frequent in-state travel required

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
Lead: Assigns, trains, schedules or oversees work of others
