SUMMARY

Responsible to ValleyCare Health System for supporting the corporate mission, vision and values.

Responsible to Information Technology for guidance, assistance and cooperation to achieve the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness of system service and requests.

Responsible to the customer for courteous, accurate, timely service.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAJOR DUTIES

O

rganizes and controls the Business and Clinical Systems operations by coordinating staff to meet budgets and deadlines. Resolves conflicting demands from users for service-related items. Establishes, reviews, and revises operating procedures as required. Works closely with internal and external management in problem solving and recommending business systems solutions. Ensures implementation and maintenance of related projects meet the hospital objectives and are consistent with network strategic IT plan. Project Management is an integral part of this position.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related area, or equivalent experience.

Requires a minimum of 8 years experience in information technology management which included application development, implementation and maintenance of strategic information systems plan to effectively meet the expanding needs of the user community.

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION

None required for this position.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Broad knowledge in professional area and in personal computer systems.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

COMPUTER OPERATIONS

Demonstrated use of intermediate computer operations including basic programming, relational databases and operating systems, and intermediate software packages.
