The East Overhead-Ward Division of the Construction & Maintenance Department at HECO has (1) bargaining unit vacancy available. (Role: Non-Exempt).
Fundamental Responsibilities
Loads and unloads truck and heavy equipment as required.
Operates all types of construction winches used in pulling conductors and moving poles and material. Makes necessary clutch and brake adjustments and lubricates as required.
Operates pole auger and makes necessary adjustments and replacement of cutting teeth.
Responsible for proper location of holes according to engineering plans.
Responsible for vehicle and all assigned tools and equipment, including following, completing and complying with routine maintenance and checklists for the entire truck and related equipment.
Responsible for the proper loading and transporting of personnel and/or materials in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, while driving and operating vehicle and / or heavy equipment.
If qualified, may operate truck and equipment of a higher classification.
Assists crew members as directed.
Is required to be transported by helicopter.
Other Responsibilities Performs similar and incidental duties as required.
Fundamental Requirements Must have a State of Hawaii Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and be able to qualify for a Company driver's license.
Must be able to obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate.
Is required to be transported by helicopter.

Must pass a Company Written Job Knowledge Test in truck operations, and Company, State and Federal regulations on operating Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV).
Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in heavy equipment / tools operations (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, etc.) or equivalent.
Performs similar and incidental duties as required.
