Job Description

Implement a successful solicitation strategy to targeted guests in order to meet and/or exceed revenue goals. Lead all group sales activities for the W Hotels of Chicago (W Chicago Lakeshore and W Chicago City Center) to maximize revenue potential. Participate in daily RevMax meeting, sales strategy meeting, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales related meetings as required. Recruit, direct, manage, train and counsel sales staff. Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings. Maintain knowledge of market, competition and customers. Selling: Manage assigned customers/market segments by developing appropriate action plans for penetration and retention. Lead by example in tenacious selling technique and goal achievement. People development: Coach and develop the complex team with a specific focus on selling skills training and technique. Conduct day to day management of the cluster sales managers and support team. Ensure the successful integration of the cluster sales team within the identified metro-market Oversee performance management of individuals within the complex; assess complex performance on a regular basis and propose changes to enhance performance as needed; work with sellers in writing business development plans. Manage a strategic travel and entertainment schedule. Assist with the marketing plan. Assist with client relations and customer retention and penetration Communication: Communicate with the Starwood leadership and other external stakeholders; communicate with market leadership (i.e.: provide cluster performance reports) Goal Setting: Manage goal-setting for the assigned team

Requirements

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS Experience Minimum five years experience in Sales Management at progressively higher levels of responsibility. Experience: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Strong organizational skills Strong time-management skills Works well independently with minimal supervision Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Experience and functional use of Microsoft's Word, Excel and Outlook programs
