Programmer Analyst MI
Ability to work independently analyzing, evaluating, reviewing and recommending new products, changes, and modifications for new or current systems
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and capable of writing proposals/papers, acting as a vendor liaison, making presentations to professional peers and working closely with upper management
Ability to solve problems quickly and completely
Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements
Ability to work well under pressure situations
Detailed knowledge of Application Development methodologies, tools and concepts
Knowledge and experience with data modeling terms and concepts
Knowledge and experience with system design and testing principles
Knowledge and experience with the following technologies are a plus:
Microsoft Office products and VB scripting
PowerBuilder (preferably version 11.5)
Experience in a UNIX and/or LINUX environment
Experience with Oracle databases
Oracle PL/SQL development and SQL Tuning
Object Oriented programming
Experience with C++, Java or .Net
High School Diploma/GED
2 Year Degree or Equivalent Experience

Duties and Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a Programmer Analyst to join our Lansing, MI location.
This individual is responsible for analysis, design and development of new and existing systems. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are a must as is the ability to collaborate and work closely with other areas within IT and the business.
Essential Duties and Tasks
Prepare technical documentation including technical design, flowcharts and specifications
Act as technical subject matter expert during project initiation and analysis
Plan and control detail work for assigned tasks
Develop test plans and performs unit and system testing
Produce and validate turnover documentation for technical solutions
Perform coding, testing and problem solving for assigned projects
Prepare run procedures for the testing environment
Support production environment during business and after hours
Interact with management and users to understand and support business objectives
Assist and support other areas of IT in system testing and problem resolution
Prepare management status reporting
Function as a resource person for other IT staff and user areas
Read manuals, periodicals, and technical reports in order to stay current with the industry and increase technical knowledge
Follow established policies, procedures and processes.
Able to work with minimal supervision
