The position provides customer service at the front counter at City Hall which requires constant contact with the public. The primary responsibilities of this position include processing birth and death certificates, voter registration, landscape licenses and selling lawn bag stickers and City parking tokens as well as the following tasks: answering the phone, responding to requests for information, ordering supplies, drafting letters, opening and closing the building, managing the cash register and making daily bank deposits. This position is also responsible for maintenance of files, preparation of agendas and transcribing meeting minutes.
A friendly personality is a must. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and communicate clearly, with a focus on customer service. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite is required. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous office clerical experience is highly desired.
Working in the Office of the City manager requires all employees to be flexible, cooperative, and possess the capability to function well under pressure and on deadlines. A positive attitude is critical. This position will cross train to provide depth and flexibility in all areas of the Office.
