Job Description: Chartwells Higher Education brings fresh ideas and innovative concepts to higher education foodservice. The Controller directs all the accounting and control functions at the account including all revenue and expense reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and monthly financial reporting requirements.

Responsible for all financial reporting and maintenance of financial records, documents, and payroll related data

Financial statements prepared in an accurate, complete and timely manner

Accounting conforms to generally accepted accounting principles and Compass Group

Communication with client regarding financial performance

Coordination between client office staff and Chartwells office staff

Ensure that Balance sheets are reconciled each period

Ensure accounting follows contract terms

Analyzes income statement and balance sheet for accuracy and completeness

Prepares week end period end financial reports

Assists with Training and Development of all accounting and clerical staff within the region

Provides financial support

Assists team in preparation of annual budget

Work in a team environment

Responsible for keeping operations focused on optimization of working capital including: collection of past due receivables, inventory management, management of imprest funds, and paying vendors according to terms

Complete special projects as assigned by management

Proactive, results oriented individual that can add value to the operation while maintaining and managing business processes to ensure efficient accounting and internal control.

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.

5+ years business experience in similar position

Powerful communication and presentation skills

Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

SAP GL and SAP Payroll experience preferred.

The individual must possess a demonstrated ability to manage multiple task & priorities, have strong organizational skills, and produce consistently accurate work.

Team Player and motivator, detail oriented, forward thinking, creative, ability to work under strict deadlines and maintain a consistently stable work environment.
