UX Designer
Aviary - New York, NY
We're looking for an experienced UX designer who specializes in creating interactive web and mobile app experiences. You should be completely comfortable performing thorough user research and A-B testing to determine the best workflows, and base your wireframes and user experiences on those results. You'll coordinate with our front-end designer to ensure that our users get to experience the best possible interactions on our site and in our applications.

You'll be a great fit if you’re the kind of person who spends your free time identifying ways to improve existing interactions (site redesign proposals, anyone?). You should understand navigation systems, know the conventions and when to challenge them, and have the ability to process available information and present an elegant solution. You must be a great communicator who can work well with the rest of the Aviary team (designers, developers, marketers and executives) to produce the best possible products from start to finish.

Responsibilities:
Perform user research and A-B testing to determine the best interactions for our users

Plan out functional workflow for products

Design wireframes and interaction points

Work with design team to oversee implementation of wireframes to make sure they remain consistent

Create a seamless, enjoyable Aviary experience from start to finish

Requirements:
Undergraduate or graduate degree in design or technology

Experience building professional applications for a consumer-oriented website or design agency

Familiar enough with the basics of technology to be able to consider technical limitations and understand developers' challenges

Proven track record of improving user experiences: you must have a portfolio and be able to show us before/after examples

Design, usability, and technical experience in developing site maps, wireframes, visual design concepts, and working prototypes for database-driven web sites and mobile apps

An exceptional communicator who can articulate the rationale behind your decisions
The ability to make intelligent product decisions based on company strategy and user needs
