Position is for a Legislative Analyst responsible for researching and analyzing legislation and Congressional repots, public law ans well as monitoring and tracking House/Senate Defense committee and House/Senate floor actions. Prepares hearing preparation materials to include member biographical information, previous Congressional activity and extracts of legislation affecting Air Force space acquisition activities. May be required to attend hearings and compile a hearing summary. Produces summaries and develops reports. Provides a conduit for time-sensitive and program-critical information on Air force space acquisition efforts from Congress to the Air Force Program Element Monitor (PEM). Provides information and recommendations to flag-level client.
Minimum Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one as a condition of employment. Bachelors Degree preferably in Political Science or related field. Experience on Capitol Hill as a Congressional member or committee staffer highly desired. Experience as a military legislative highly desired. Must have a minimum of 7 years overall relevant experience. Proficiency in standard office information technology tools like Microsoft Office. Must be articulate in oral and written presentations, possess high organizational skills and the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines. Must be a self-starter, possess excellent interpersonal skills and be comfortable working with senior level-executives. Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Knowledge of Air Force organizations, Air Force Acquisition systems, and DoD budget process is desirable.
