This position reports to a Head of Store (HOS) for a Gap Inc. Outlet Store representing one of our four Gap Inc. brands: Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, and Gap Clearance Stores. The Associate Manager assists the HOS in attracting, hiring, training and developing all levels of associates, including sales team, stock supervisors and Assistant Managers. The Associate Manager assists the store team in meeting sales goals, customer service targets, and Operating and Human Resources objectives through execution, coaching and accountability.

Sets and prioritizes daily store business goals with HOS and leads team to achieve them.

Successfully executes and maintains Gap Inc. Outlet initiatives in store.

Ensures all store standards and processes are consistently maintained.

Models and teaches associates to create a delightful customer experience.

Models and coaches effective Management on Duty behaviors to maximize staff performance and productivity.

Executes projects in a timely manner as directed by HOS.

Partners with HOS to achieve all store financial, revenue and expense targets.

Manages labor effectively to maximize productivity and achieve daily and weekly targets.

Consistently adjusts sales forecast to ensure labor is utilized to optimize sales generation.

Ensures adherence to all Company policies relating to cash and media control.

Leads efforts to reduce store shrink through Loss Prevention education, awareness and compliance.

Provides feedback to HOS on cost and service effectiveness of outside vendors.

Holds team and self accountable for all Gap Inc. standards of performance and behaviors.

Effectively sources, selects and on-boards non-exempt store associates.

Partners with HOS to maintain optimal staffing levels to ensure business goals are met while promoting retention.

Executes a high-quality associate experience from on boarding through the associate life cycle.

Assists with or delivers timely performance feedback to non-management associates.

Partners with HOS to create goals and individual development plans that support performance needs and career growth for self and team supervisors.

Works with HOS to promote team collaboration through modeling Gap Inc. Purpose, Values and Behaviors, thereby maximizing store performance.

Recognizes performance and customer issues and communicates to HOS for resolution.

Builds strong relationships with store-center partners.

Executes all Division of Responsibility as assigned by HOS.

Shares customer feedback and in-store trends with HOS and District Manager as appropriate.

Leads implementation of product placement, marketing and promotional activities.

Responds to all communication in a timely manner.

Complies with all Federal, State and Gap Inc. employment requirements,

Performs various administrative duties as required.

Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds

Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evening overnight and weekend shifts
