The NCR Advanced Checkout Solution (ACS) is a retail POS solution targeted for grocery stores within the US and Canada and is installed today in over 7,000 stores. ACS has two versions one that is heavily customized for large retail chains and one that is packaged for smaller retailers. The ACS solution incorporates the latest retail technology including self-checkout, customer loyalty, EFT, alternative payments, etc. The ACS solution supports all of the retail peripherals including scanners, receipt printers, pinpads, customer displays, MSRs, coin dispensers, etc. The ACS team is located in Duluth, GA with offshore teams in the Philippines and India. Projects are driven using the agile development methodology. We are responsible for the development of new features as well as fixing bugs in the current product. Technologies include C/C++, C#, and ASP.net. The ACS solution runs on Microsoft Windows operating systems including Windows 2008 Server R2, Windows 2003 Server, and Windows 7 as well as embedded operating systems for the POS such as POSReady 2009 and POSReady 7.
We are looking for a Software Engineer (Developer) to work within the ACS Software Engineering team. The position will involve both the development of new product features as well as fixing bugs in the current product. The position will require interaction with the customer support team, professional services, QA, and SCM teams.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
â€¢ Developing product/solution architecture based on customer requirements written from business requirement document and/or business requirement specifications.
â€¢ Converting requirements to functional requirements to develop software code that is accessible, usable, efficient, re-usable, cost effective, maintainable, reliable and installable.
â€¢ Designing and modeling program/code for an integrated software product or system that supports re-use, change and integration of various components.
â€¢ Constructing software, which meet requirements, promote re-use of software components, and facilitate ease of support.
â€¢ Conducting unit tests, tracking problems, and implementing changes to ensure adherence to test plan and functional requirements
â€¢ Diagnosing, isolating, and implementing remedies for system failures caused by errors in software code, using knowledge of system characteristics and utilizing software based system maintenance and tracking tools.
â€¢ Provide input and technical content for technical documentation for user help materials and customer training.
â€¢ Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university plus at least two years of software development experience; or at least six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
