We are searching for a Mid-Level Geotechnical
Engineer/Project Manager for our Canfield, OH location.
This position provides technical support and project
management on commercial, industrial, and public
projects. Primary focus will be on Appalachian Basin oil
and gas related projects. However, the candidate may be
requested to support other projects/programs that are
also managed and supported in the Canfield and
Pittsburgh PA offices. The successful candidate will
have essential duties and responsibilities that will
include: Provide civil engineering/site design support
to on-going and new projects; Plan and direct
geotechnical investigations and design for engineered
fills and building foundations; Prepare construction
documents (plans and specifications) and construction
bid packages; Provide direction to staff personnel to
complete project tasks and mentor junior level technical
support personnel. Plan, schedule, conduct and
coordinate detailed phases of technical work; Prepare
project proposals and successfully complete the awarded
project in accordance with the proposal schedule and
budget; Interface with Client Project Managers,
government regulators, other contractors and
representatives; Create business development materials
for inclusion in proposals and marketing to new clients
as well as conducting business development calls to
prospective clients.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
is required; advanced degree such as a Masters is
preferred. A minimum of eight years of related
experience is preferred. Candidates must have experience
managing projects and providing strong technical
direction/support for geotechnical and site development
projects. The successful candidate will also have
experience with geotechnical design (such as - shallow
and deep foundations, slope stability, retaining walls,
settlement) and construction, geotechnical laboratory
testing, engineered fills, construction monitoring, and
soil erosion and sediment controls. Experience
interfacing with state and local agencies as well as
community boards for project planning is beneficial. The
ideal candidate will have the ability to oversee and
certify the work of others and be competent to serve as
a project manager on design and design/build projects.
Experienced at taking civil and site design projects
from inception (e.g., proposal preparation) through
design, construction and to completion. Candidates must
be self-motivated, creative and have strong
organizational, inter-personal communication, writing
and presentation skills. Computer skills must include
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with GSTABL7 and
SUPPORT-IT/PILE BUCK computer programs is a plus.
Professional Registration (e.g., P.E.) is required.

air and possess a valid driver’s license in good
