Description: National Cable/Spot Media Negotiator = Primary responsibilities are to negotiate, purchase and maintain media campaigns for Zenith Direct clients in any assigned media and markets.

  • Negotiate and purchase broadcast activity efficiently and effectively
  • Maintain Market/Station profiles and Allowable/Rate History
  • Strong familiarity with Rating Metrics
  • Estimate delivery for all target demographics where appropriate
  • Buy-Manage to client Allowable or Ratings goals
  • Adhere to each client’s guidelines
  • Maintain confirmation of purchase, schedules, budgets, and reconciliation of station billing
  • Monitor performance of buys using Core for buy management to target allowables or current rating information where appropriate for ratings delivery goals. Re-negotiate buys or secure bonus weight for under-delivery
  • Evaluate post-analyses and secure bonus weight for any under-deliveries
  • Meet all due dates for buys, post-analyses, and assigned projects
  • Communicate regularly with national television representatives and station management
  • Travel to local market to solidify agency/station relationship if needed
  • Advise supervisors of marketplace conditions and special program opportunities
  • Assist in development of allowables, cost per points, competitive checks and group projects
  • Assist in training and development of buyer and junior buyer
  • 3+ years of negotiating experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, interpersonal, and follow-up skills
  • Strong negotiator
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Core Media Systems
