Assists the Chief Risk Officer, SH Delivery System in the overall development, management, implementation and oversight of the Organizational Risk Management Program. In collaboration with the Chief Risk Officer, SH Delivery System, leads the Department’s clinical risk management functions. Supervises the Clinical Risk Managers (1, 2, & 3), Risk Analysts and other employees as assigned. Oversees the Department’s day to day clinical risk operations to ensure: investigation and resolution of incidents, identification of strategies to minimize risks, improve the quality and safety of patient care, monitors trends in clinical risk, develop and implement strategies to ensure proactive risk reduction measures.
Education - in Associate’s degree in Nursing with a Bachelor’s degree in any field OR a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing AND 10 years recent, relevant risk management experience; OR Master’s of Science degree in health care-related field such as nursing, or a business related field, AND 5 years recent, relevant risk management experience
Experience - 10 years of experience acute care clinical nursing experience or relevant work experience, Experience in legal field such as with health care claims and health care risk management programs, patient safety, patient quality improvement programs, or nursing administration and management positions ,1 year of experience supervisory/management/acting in a lead role
Licenses - Other\o Current Risk Management Certification, such as the Certified Professional in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM), administered by the American Hospital Association, or the Associate in Risk Management (ARM), administered by the Insurance Institute of America; other nationally recognized health care risk management certifications would be considered. Risk Management Certification must be maintained current while in the position
