The Director of Business Intelligence Solutions will be responsible for the day to day operations of the reporting team. This position requires a well-developed understanding of the health insurance / health care industry, and in-depth understanding of health care data and the methods of data analysis. General Responsibilities: - Apply analytical / quantitative approach to problem solving - knows how to obtain and use data, and comfortable with statistical concepts.- Create ad hoc and standard reports using various reporting tools for different functional areas of the company.- Assess reporting results through data investigation, analysis, and evaluation.- Analyze data and trends and create documentation supporting all of the reports.- Prepare written analysis and summarize results using graphical representations and professional formatting.- Ensure that reports support the overall scope of company- s business strategies. - Maintain data integrity and ongoing quality control of delivered reports. - Work closely with all levels of end users, including executive level staff, to quickly develop reports which will be used to make strategic business decisions. - Create detailed documentation outlining report criteria and provide recommendations to the requestor based on the results of the report.- Initiate new projects that benefit the goals of the company.- QA reports for not only coding errors and issues, but also make suggestions on data representation- Oversee that all requests for their area are completed timely, accurately, following department policies and procedures.- Plan and organize necessary ongoing reports and proactive work in order to provide a comprehensive package for the end-users.- Responsible for setting and upholding a high standard of operational performance throughout the teams.- Selects and hires employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. - Monitors work flow and levels of productivity, quality and timeliness. Prepares and recommends operating and personnel budgets for approval. Monitors spending for adherence to budget, recommends variances as necessary.- Develops, implements, and coordinates policies, making sure staff follows and implements policies and procedures during everyday business communication with internal and external clients. - Create, oversee, and implement a strategic plan for the department.- Responsible for vision scope and continuous process improvement related to all functional areas.- Coordinate communication both internally and externally on all projects and issue resolution.- Work with various departments to manage and oversee the migration of reports to newer reporting tools and platforms.- Ultimate responsibility for functional and technical design of BI solutions.- Oversee the delivery of BI solutions, including universes, reports and dashboards, ensuring that the end product meets user requirements and comply with processes and standards.- Hands-on involvement in Business Intelligence development efforts.

Education & Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent education and/or experience required- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Report Writer/Analyst required- Minimum 5 years progressive experience in Information Technology highly desired- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or staff management experience required - Experience in healthcare, disease management industry highly desired- Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services or other Business Intelligence solutions required
