The primary purpose of this position is to: Manage the new business pipeline through the development of leads, management of prospects through the sales process, increasing market share and maximize profits.
Define potential prospective retailers to target for acquisition based on market relevance, warehouse / retail locations, sales budgets and profitability requirements.
Evaluate potential of account(s) within the parameters of C&S sales and profitability requirements.
Interact with multiple management levels and departments to develop profitable proposals for potential customers.
Meet with potential customers to present C&S programs and to establish potential customer needs.
Collaborate with Senior Business Manager, Finance, Procurement, Warehousing, Transportation and Legal in creation and approval of proposals.
Negotiate needs of customer relative to needs of C&S.
Implement transition process for new customers through participation in start up process.
Manage new and existing business pipeline in through SugarCRM.
Conduct quarterly reviews of competition and overall business environment.
Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Procurement, Warehousing, Transportation and Legal in the creation and approval of proforma’s and proposals.
Bachelor's degree Business or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years proven business development experience in a retail and/or wholesale operations environrment.
Working knowledge of market conditions, financial understanding, industry functionality.
Strong negotiation and facilitation ability.
Understanding of procurement, warehousing, transportation and store operations.
Understanding or retail and wholesale marketplace.
Proficiency in Microsoft office
Ability to travel up to 75%
