Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Kitimat Plant Logistics Manager located in Houston, TX through February 19, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Overview:
The Kitimat LNG project is located in Western Canada and includes 1) construction of the 2 x 5.5 MTPA Kitimat LNG Plant and 2) the Pacific Trails Pipeline.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Responsibility for overseeing and managing the entire plant logistics program including module, equipment and bulk cargo logistics throughout the overall supply chain. Development of the necessary organizational capability within the Kitimat team, Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) Re / Engineering, Procurement and Construction (Management) (EPCM) Contractor organization, and selected logistics contractors' organizations
  • Assist in the development of contract ITB templates and scopes of work for project logistics contracts for (a) Heavy module marine/road transport and (b) General cargo transport from worldwide locations to module yards and Kitimat, freight forwarding services, and in-country transport, including development of criteria to evaluate bids.
  • Oversee the selected logistics contractors' performance of project logistics, focusing primarily on the movement of prefabricated modules from multiple locations to ports near Kitimat.
  • Oversee the selected EPC Re / EPCM Contractor's day to day management of the selected logistics contractors' performance.
  • Working with stakeholders to develop strategic and execution plans and ensure alignment of logistics strategies including scope, tracking systems integration with project MM systems, and roles and responsibilities for module movement and transportation (for every module fabricator/package) and bulk materials/equipment freight forwarding
  • Providing input and guidance to the project team, EPC Re / EPCM contractor, module fabrication contractors, EPC and construction contractors regarding logistics, export compliance, customs regulations and processes and import/export requirements at multiple worldwide fabrication yards as well as Canada.
  • Ensuring collaboration between the Project team, EPC Re / EPCM contractor, CBU base business operations and supply chain management organizations to increase awareness of the Kitimat major capital project logistics activities and ensure alignment with base business operations planning.
  • Responsibilities also include supporting project wide safety initiatives including implementation of Incident & Injury free (IIF) and Safety VIPs.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Science preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years direct experience in Logistics on large capital projects, or in business operational environments with a demonstrated experience dealing with large, complex projects.
  • Candidate must be willing and able to travel and work in the US or in international project locations.
  • Knowledge of logistics operations on large, complex major capital projects (MCP) that entail the movement of large modules, major equipment and general cargo from worldwide locations to multiple destinations.
  • Knowledge of global logistics supplier/contractor community for both specialty and general cargo shipment of the equipment and materials required to develop a MCP.
  • Knowledge of heavy ocean and barge transport, marine operations, heavy lift and heavy haul of capital equipment, bulk materials required for MCP.
  • Knowledge of EPC company operations, contracting and execution strategies for complex logistics in both upstream and downstream international projects.
