Under the general direction of the Department Director/Clinical Leader and in accordance with the nursing practice standards established by the Nursing Organization and, additionally, by the specific unit/department in accordance with the rules, regulations and/or standards established by the State Board of Nursing, the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, the Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, and appropriate specialty organizations relevant to the patient population under care, the Clinical Nurse I performs the following functions:
Interviews the patient and/or family to obtain a comprehensive history and to obtain data about patient's developmental status and behavior. Examines the patient to obtain objective physical data. Reviews clinical data from Lab results, x-rays, scans, pathology reports as part of data base. Completes a physical and psychosocial assessment based on interview, examination and review of clinical data. Documents data and assessment on appropriate form according to guidelines. Communicates patient status and assessed needs to members of interdisciplinary team. Reassesses patient status at established time frames and as indicated by the patient's status. Reports status and changes in status as appropriate.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Experience: Equivalent of 6 full-time months in a staff nurse/entry level position.
Licensure/ Certification: Current registration in State of New Hampshire as a professional nurse
