POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Operations and Housekeeping Supervisor clean the assigned rooms within your daily shift. Report any maintenance needs with the rooms or common area to ensure that issues are repaired in a timely manner.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:
Clean and maintain guest rooms and common areas as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor
Be able to be on your feet for an extended period of time and lift up to 25 lbs
Communicate in a professional manner with all guest, peers and management
Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas so that health standards are met
Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas
Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts
Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines
Dust and polish furniture and equipment
Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
KNOW HOW:
This position requires strong time management, organization and communication skills.
Observe precautions required to protect hotel and guest property, and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors
Observe proper handling, storing and mixing of chemicals
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, this includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to be on your feet for a long period of time
Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
Must be willing to clean a full housekeeping section of rooms.
