Missouri Baptist is a 489-bed acute-care community hospital located at Highway 40 and I-270 in west St. Louis County. The Community Education Staff is comprised of registered nurses and registered dietitians committed to living a healthy lifestyle. Community Education provides health promotion and disease prevention services in the Greater St. Louis region using a system based model - partnering with various community organizations including businesses, faith-based and non-for-profit organizations and public/government service groups. The goal of Community Education is to enhance access to health care services and promote health and wellness within Missouri Baptist and in the community. The Community Education staff helps individuals identify their risk for disease and the steps they can take to improve their overall health.

Role Purpose

Responsible for assisting with set-up and delivery of health promotion and screening programs which establish an information exchange process with consumers.


  • Assists in the delivery, development and instruction of health promotion classes, lectures, screening, and immunization programs.
  • Assists with development of class objectives and educational handouts.
  • Sets up, delivers, and breaks down after community and corporate events.
  • Ensures accurate tracking of program participants including follow-up of screening participants and reports results to department manager.
