JOB PURPOSE

ENHANCE THE MOUNTAIN EXPERIENCE FOR GUEST AND STAFF BY:

Contributing to the development, growth and execution of Mountain Operations, Event and Animation activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job result satisfactorily. The employee is responsible for the following “job results”.

COMPLETES MOUNTAIN GUIDES OBJECTIVES

By

Attending the Mountain Guide orientation

Taking an active role in our daily mountain operations, events and animation activities

Executing, maintaining and assisting in various mountain operations, event and animation activities, tasks and duties

Upholding standards for guest satisfaction, communication and animation

Accomplishing related results as needed

Coming to work as scheduled (clocking in and out)

Wearing proper uniform

ENSURES THE SUCCESS OF MOUNTAIN OPERATIONS AND EVENTS

By

Assisting in site preparation

Assisting event, race, and animation setup and breakdown

Loading and unloading sound equipment, staging and other heavy materials

Assisting with mountain operations

Assisting patrol with opening, closing, and sweeping trails

Manning event, race, and animation activities

Cleaning and maintaining trails when needed

Assist with village movies if help is needed

ACTS AS A FUNCTIONAL MEMBER OF THE MOUNTAIN GUIDE COMMITTEE

By

Being a versatile team player

Learning to operate in the many areas and departments ofSnowshoeMountain

Effectively assisting other departments as needed

MINIMIZES RESORT LIABILITY RISKS

Attending the Mountain Guide orientation

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

The knowledge, skill and ability an incumbent must have in order to accomplish the job results and to perform the job duties.

Education: Less than a high school diploma or equivalent

Prior Experience

Specific Experience: Event or activity volunteer/setup/breakdown, coordinating outdoor functions and organizing group related functions.

Length of Experience: Three (3) months

None

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent will carry out the supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; resolving problems; scheduling, hiring and termination of employees.

GENERAL LANGUAGE & REASONING ABILITY

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. The incumbent is required to be mentally alert while performing this job.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The incumbent may be expected to perform duties in the outdoors. He/she may be required to work in adverse weather and is frequently walking, running, lifting, stooping, standing and carrying items for long periods of time. The incumbent will be place in situations that require physical stability and balance as well as close attention to details.
