This role is the R&D Engineering leader for the Network Management Center (NMC) in HP Software Infrastructure and Operations Management.
The team is innovating on the latest network technologies and software development processes to bring the market leading Automated Network Management solution to customers.
The solution consists of HP products in the NMC portfolio that deliver fault monitoring, change and configuration, and performance monitoring.
Included in the NMC product portfolio are Network Node Manager (NNMi), Network Automation (NA), and iSPIs.

Our team is looking for a seasoned software R&D Manager to lead the NMC Engineering team.
Provide direct and ongoing strategic leadership for an organization of approximately 170 engineers. Organization talent is comprised of management and individual contributors, both solid and dotted lined, responsible for designing and developing engineering solutions utilizing multiple engineering disciplines for products, systems, software, and solutions.
Create strategic and tactical operations and resource plans, goals, and priorities for assigned organization based on business and technology roadmap and functional objectives.
With Product Management, lead the strategy development and planning for the network management domain. Identify requirements that are competitive and compelling to our customers.
Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for the organization, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with organizational metrics and business plans.
Lead a highly engaged engineering team by providing overall people management for direct and indirect reports, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; drive and foster organization-wide performance standards, expectations, and practices to support ongoing team member and process development.
Manage the roadmap and facilitate the detailed planning and execution of project deliverables for the NMC engineering teams. Work with the other R&D project teams and the cross-functional teams to contribute to successful solution and product releases.
Manage third party relationships and contracts to ensure engineering team delivers on the project objectives.
Build a highly motivated, customer-focused team that is able to deliver on release goals and effectively contribute to strategic planning and technical initiatives.
Provide solid R&D leadership, including coaching and mentoring of team members.
Education and Experience
inimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline is required.
Master’s degree in Engineering
or MBA is desired.
10+ years of experience with enterprise or systems software.
Experience with IT Network Management solutions is a plus.
Candidate must have significant experience in New Product Development.
Demonstrated performance as a strategic business and technical thinker.
Proven leadership with R&D and people management skills.
Demonstrated experience in leading Agile development teams.
Ability to manage complex projects, identify, track and resolve issues quickly, assign resources and co-ordinate activities, optimize schedules, manage change effectively, and manage risk mitigation.
Self-motivated and self-directed with a proven desire to work as a team member, both on the same team and outside the team.
Strong background in Software Engineering
