The Digital Designer is responsible for creative assets that are used for marketing initiatives. This position may also do simple front-end coding and development and assist the backend development team when there is a large backlog of work.


  • Sole front-end web designer and leads all front-end/client-side design
  • Creating and tweaking banner ads and widgets
  • Illustrator images/seals/badges/etc.
  • Photoshop mockups of landing pages and graphics
  • Converts Photoshop and Illustrator designs into web ready pages
  • Wireframes
  • Builds front-end code as reusable components and codes for optimal site performance and SEO
  • Ensures compatibility of different browsers and environments like desktop, tablets, and other mobile devices.
  • Formatting html for Emails, updating email templates, testing across different email
  • clients
  • Troubleshooting/ bugs
  • QA and Testing, including browser testing
  • Uses languages like HTML, XHTML, HTML 5, CSS 2/3 and Javascript
  • User flow creation and testing
  • Works autonomously and can set and meet deadlines
  • Has a good design sense and is not afraid to innovate or invent

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in graphic and web design. Other requirements listed below.

Design Skills - A good eye for design, strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, and CSS. The ability to work within the confines of an existing brand. Desire to create a sleek design with very little instruction or direction. Must also have the ability to manage web graphic/design projects from concept sketches to wireframes to development, including the coding of design concepts and prototypes using front-end programming languages.

Branding – SolarReviews.com is an industry-leading brand. The Web Designer will work closely with the marketing team to create assets that add to the brand and express who we are and what we're doing in a logical and attractive way. Working within the confines of our existing brand is a must. The ability to communicate our brand across multiple mediums
is required.

UX Design - Candidates do not need to be experts in UX, but SolarReviews.com is an interactive web experience and it's important that interface design improves the usability of the site. An understanding of the concept of user experience design is important. A firm understanding of user flow design and how users move through websites is required. Desire to learn more about UX design and user testing is a plus.

Development - An intermediate level of HTML and CSS coding is required for this
position. The ability to code HTML and CSS for all modern browsers is required.
This position works closely with the backend development team. Familiarity with web
development lifecycles preferred and stellar problem solving skills are required.

Work Ethic - A strong work ethic is a requirement. We are a fast-moving team and
quick turnaround and meeting deadlines are important on a daily basis. Personal
accountability for the work that you put together and the ability to change directions
quickly and seamlessly are important. Ideal candidates possess the desire to work in
a team environment and contribute to the larger goals of the organization. Giving and receiving constructive criticism will occur frequently in this role.

Content - Proofreading capabilities, excellent grammar, and spelling skills are required. Copywriting skills and photography skills strongly desired.
