Evolent Health is looking for an Associate Director, Performance Improvement to be a founding member of the Program Effectiveness and Process Improvement team. This Associate Director, Performance Improvement will play a critical role in executing Evolent Health’s aggressive growth plans. Reporting to the Senior Director, Performance Improvement, the Associate Director, Performance Improvement role will support a myriad of exciting implementations and operational projects throughout the organization. Are you a subject matter expert in operational excellence, lean, six sigma methodology, and rapid process improvement and operations management? Assist Evolent Health with client implementations, strategic initiatives crossing business teams and operating groups as a Associate Director, Performance Improvement You'll investigate various business challenges and problems, find solutions, facilitate kaizen events and make presentations to senior leadership, ensure process documentation is accurate and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope. You will research, review and provide pertinent data and facts to identify and solve issues and mitigate risks, prioritize your work load and work on ad hoc projects as assigned.
This position is responsible for defining, managing and facilitating processes optimization to support business objectives and client implementations.
Acting as a "change agent" for the department and company to ensure that process improvement activity is being communicated, understood, and supported within the organization.
Provide the appropriate level of leadership and coaching to ensure participation and buy in from stakeholders in order to sustain improved process.
Employs Lean Six Sigma methodology, including creation of charters, scope, goals, and benefits of process improvement initiatives
Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports; apply control procedures resulting in permanent corrective action, yield, and productivity improvement
Work with key functional leaders to identify performance gaps, prioritize opportunities, and manage improvement roadmap for functional areas Facilitates identification of project impacts across all business areas
Facilitate cross-functional process improvement DMAIC projects and rapid improvement events (kaizens), including identifying and managing all resources needed, selection of and training on Lean and/or Six Sigma tools to be used, process mapping, documentation and rollout of improved processes. Investigate and identify root causes of process performance drivers; correct or develop new processes, as appropriate in order to achieve improved performance.
Guides business area points of contact in building plans to support project implementation
Coordinates with technology delivery team to ensure technology and process changes and timing are in alignment
Supports business areas when roadblocks are encountered and aids in successful removal of obstacles (escalating where appropriate)
Reports out on overall implementation status to project leadership
Post-deployment monitoring and coordination with points of contacts to adequately remediate any issues
Works with less structured, more complex issues
Qualifications and Skills:
Lean Six Sigma and/or industrial engineering experience in a transactional environment and healthcare industry is desired
Blackbelt level lean six sigma training is desired and certification from a reputed body such as ASQ is preferred
Demonstrated analytical ability with understanding of basic statistics is desired
Experience in leading kaizen and/or rapid process improvement events is preferred
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications including advanced Excel, Visio and Project are essential , experience with Minitab is a plus but not required
A Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, business, healthcare administration and or similar experience is required, master's degree is desirable
5+ years of experience working in a process/project management position
Demonstrate creative problem solving skills, adapting approach as needed for each engagement
Strong focus on customer service
Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to be persuasive
Strong presentation skills
