This position includes responsibility for prevention-based quality planning tasks in addition to a wide range of inspections, including mechanical, CMM and Laser Tracker. Additional responsibilities include participation in quality audits with customers and vendors.
Essential qualifications for this position include a related two-year post high school diploma/certificate, or four years of relevant job experience related to machine trades and/or quality assurance. Demonstrated ability to interpret customer drawings and specifications related to machine and weld shop production processes, including proficiency with geometric dimensioning and shop math required. Working knowledge of basic machine shop inspection technologies and sound measurement practices, and the ability to detect and identify typical defects found in materials, those created by outside vendor processes or induced through machining processes used by Remmele also necessary. Proficient in selecting, calibrating and using precision machine shop gauging and possesses written, verbal and interaction skills necessary to work both independently and cooperatively required.
The most qualified candidate will also possess demonstrated ability to program and operate CMM or laser tracker, proficiency in using PC and related QA software, and familiarity with CAD software packages. Experience and training in conducting quality audits, and working knowledge of statistical sample, SPC, gage studies and statistical analysis desired.
