The City and County of Denver and Denver Human Services seek a highly-motivated, skilled CBMS expert to support the Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS) as an Associate Information Technology Technician . This position will also support an internal application called the Work Management System (WMS) and provide support for legacy systems, State systems and other internal systems.
This position will be working directly with staff on troubleshooting and resolving program and system issues related to CBMS and other state/county information systems.

Job Responsibilities:
Provides technical support, in a formal or informal help desk setting (Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 functions), to users with complex problems with CBMS related to Food Assistance (FA), Family Medical (FM), Adult Medical (AM), Long Term Care (LTC) & Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) programs. Does in-depth analysis on CBMS system, program, and policy and cases issues. Process merges (State ID and Client) working with end users and the State Help Desk. Opening help desk tickets with the State Help Desk for CBMS issues. In addition, responds to user requests for problem resolution including logging, troubleshooting, testing, adjusting, resolving or referring problems to the appropriate Information Technology resource.
Acts as a liaison between user groups, Policy and Training, Information Technology, State & County Agencies and other units here at DHS in communicating & identifying problems and possible solutions.
This position will be working directly with staff on troubleshooting and resolving program and system issues related to CBMS (FA, FM, AM, TANF & LTC) programs, and other state/county information systems. The position will also require learning and providing user support for WMS. Additionally, the Associate IT Technician will be required to utilize the help desk ticketing application HEAT, which will be used extensively in performing duties associated the CBMS help desk.

Qualifications:

Education Requirement:
Associate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a directly related field.

Experience Requirement:
Two years of Information Technology experience performing user support of desktop, legacy systems and/or Information Technology communications systems. Experience MUST include the following special qualifications:

  • Must have one (1) year of experience providing end user technical support or processing cases in the Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS).
Education/Experience Equivalency:
Additional appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirement. There are no equivalencies for special qualifications.
