Knowledge Management (KM) Online Facilitation and Development Specialist
to work on several ongoing buy-in activities to assist the U.S. Agency for International Development staff (USAID) in a variety of online KM-related tasks.
The Knowledge Driven Microenterprise Development (KDMD) project is USAID's premier knowledge management initiative. Its purpose is to drive knowledge management innovation not just in the activities of the Microenterprise Development Office (MD) but also throughout the Agency. As a result, other bureaus, offices, and USAID Missions have bought into KDMD to access its services. The KDMD Team provides knowledge management expertise to assist these other USAID entities in a variety of KM-related requirements.
In addition to working on the KDMD project, the incumbent will engage in similar work for the Program Cycle Capacity (PCC) project. Duties and responsibilities under both projects are outlined below.
Policy, Planning and Learning (PPL) Bureau Learning Labs Support (KDMD project)
The Learning Labs website supports the roll-out and guidance on program cycle reforms, USAID Forward, and other policy initiatives relating the way USAID works for USAID Missions and other operating units.
Facilitates live and online discussions, webinars, e-TDYs and other interactions between USAID and implementing partners and other stakeholders on the program cycle reforms, USAID Forward, and other initiatives
Works with Learning, Evaluation, and Research office staff (LER) to develop content for the Learning Labs site and to field and respond to questions from the site's users
Develops outreach and communication strategies and ways of driving potential users to the site
Other responsibilities as assigned by the client
Program Cycle Capacity (PCC) Facilitation and Knowledge Management Specialist (PCC project)
The ProgramNet website is the internal website (Intranet) that is the complement of the Learning Labs site and supports implementation of the Program Cycle reforms, USAID Forward, and other policy initiatives of the PPL Bureau.
Facilitates live and online discussions, webinars, e-TDYs and other interactions between USAID and implementing partners and other stakeholders on the program cycle reforms, USAID Forward and other initiatives
Works as part of the Strategy and Program Planning office team in developing content for the website (case studies, presentations on various aspects of the reforms, development of FAQs, etc.)
With SPP staff, develop and implement outreach strategies and approaches to drive potential users to ProgramNet and engage them regularly.
Other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Client.
SID KM & Learning Workgroup (KDMD project)
The Society for International Development (SID) is a not-for-profit founded in 1957 and headquartered in Rome, with SID-Washington the most active chapter worldwide and known as the flagship of the organization.
Manages pipeline of SID events with USAID staff from the Policy, Planning and Learning (PPL) Bureau
Coordinates event outreach and supports event registration
Coordinates with SID-Washington Headquarters on all events
Plans and facilitates blended in-person and online sessions
Advanced degree in a relevant subject area, such as communications, information science, knowledge management, adult learning, etc.
Minimum of five years of experience working on learning and knowledge management, or a combination of organizational learning, strategic communications, performance monitoring, or adult training
Experience designing and facilitating combined in-person/online activities (also known as "blended learning") for webinars, peer assists, lessons-learned/AAR activities; ability to consult with client to identify appropriate in-person/online activities aligned with project goals
Experience with event coordination, including outreach, engagement, planning, and follow-up
Knowledge of international development issues and familiarity with the organization and operation of USAID strongly preferred
Ability to help USAID articulate goals and identify appropriate support
Ability to communicate comfortably directly with USAID Missions
Good understanding of Drupal; familiarity with Adobe Connect
Ability to obtain a SECRET-level security clearance
