Description
Maintains cell / switch / microwave system equipment at optimum performance to ensure quality customer service minimize outages. Usually works with direction of higher level technicians to meet or exceed company standards. Assists in investigating customer trouble reports. Assists market field engineers. Participates in classroom on-the Job-Training. Uses test equipment to analyze problems. Communicates with other department managers to resolve customer problems. Maintains a current standard of knowledge in related job disciplines. Assists in developing the routine maintenance schedule. Complies with schedule. Complies with state & federal regulations & company policies. Assists in preparing reports as required; position is defined as entry level.

The successful candidate must possess a minimum of ten years of experience in field operations along with a thorough knowledge of both microwave technology as well as hands on experience with 2G/3G cellular technology.
This microwave skill is mandatory as nearly all site facilities in the USVI are delivered via microwave as opposed to wireline facilities in other markets. In addition as a result of the frequent travel required between the three islands that comprise the USVI the successful candidate must be fully aware of the AT&T Global Expense Policy and all requirements surrounding the timely submission of expenses.

May serve as lead technician and provide guidance and directions to less experience Field Techs. Perform highly complex tasks associated with maintenance and troubleshooting of cell, Nortel GSM (2G), Ericsson UMTS (3G), ALU 1677 Mini DACS, ALU M/W Radios, Harris Megastars M/W radios, E 911 True position, DSX panels and DC power plants to maintain optimum performance, ensure quality customers service and to minimize outages. Conduct antenna sweeps and TMA testing coordinates vendors to resolve market maintenance issues. Investigate customer
's trouble reports. Use test equipment to analyze problems such as T1 issues, RSSI issues and VSWR issues. Maintain a current standard of knowledge in related job disciplines.
