Supplies account for 22.6% of BJC¿s total expenses. By developing integrated processes to manage product selection and utilization, contracting, purchasing, logistics, distribution, and payment we can ensure our patients have the supplies they need while minimizing the overall cost to our organization. By following the purchasing policies, using the products under contract, and preventing waste, you help make sure we spend our supply dollars wisely.
Negotiates, implements and evaluates an assigned section of BJC's portfolio of capital, pharmacy, supply and/or service contracts. Supervises one or more Contract Coordinators or support staff member. Develops requests for proposal (RFPs) and conducts comprehensive analyses of responses including detailed financial analyses. Works pro-actively with customers to help determine the most cost effective products and services to meet their needs. Performs utilization analyses and makes recommendations for product standardization. Reviews purchase history, monitors technology trends and performs market research to determine the potential impact of existing and new equipment, products and services. Supervises one or more Contract Coordinators.
Negotiates agreements and contracts on behalf of all BJC organizations. Participates on best practice exchange teams or other work teams established to effect change. Works collaboratively with the buyers, distribution, end users, vendors and other departments as necessary to coordinate contract implementation and product conversions. Assists in managing and monitoring the contract database. Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree - Finance/Business/related Experience
