Works under general supervision to perform maintenance work on intercom, locking control, fire alarm systems and closed circuit TV systems, install locks and detention hardware as well as closed circuit TV systems and trouble shooting electronic equipment.

EEOC CODE: 70 Minimum Qualifications Must have at least five (5) years work experience in the electronics field which consists of making extensive electronic repairs to a broad range of electronic apparatuses; high school dipolma or GED; successful completion of course training in electronic locking systems ; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (PROOF OF EDUCATION IS REQUIRED.) Special Requirements 1.Must be able to function in a prison environment.
2.Must have a valid Tennessee Driver's License or secure one as of employment date.
3.Must pass NCIC background check.
4.Must be willing to work all shifts, weekends and be on call.
5.Will be required to pass a physical, drug test and TB screening.
6.Ability to climb and work at heights of 10-20 feet and have overall manual dexterity. Duties and Responsibilities 1.Installs, services and repairs electronic locks.
2.Services and repairs fire alarm systems.
3.Installs, services and repairs intercom systems.
4.Services and repairs locking control system graphics panels.
5.Installs and repairs detention hardware.
6.Installs, services and repairs closed circuit TV equipment including cameras, controllers, DVR's and cabling.
7.Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1.Knowledge of the techniques and theories characteristic of electronics such as knowledge of basic electricity and electronic theory.
2.Ability to apply that knowledge to duties involved in engineering functions such as testing, installation and maintenance of electronics equipment.
3.Knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, operations, characteristics and functional use of a variety of types of models of electronic equipment and locking systems.
4.Knowledge of security camera and recording systems.
5.Ability to install cameras and recording equipment and make connections to county network.
6.Ability to diagnose problems with cameras and related equipment.
7.Ability to operate PC including working knowledge of Microsoft windows.
8.Ability to perform moderate skills in use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
9.Skill in use of appropriate tools and instruments.
10.Ability to read and work with blueprints.
