Job Summary:
Vertis Communications is seeking an experienced professional Software Engineer to be responsible for designing, documenting, developing and testing new features and enhancements for web and mobile applications. Candidates should be able to apply their experience and technical skills to monitor and ensure successful completion of projects.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and interpret functional requirements and specifications through close interaction with Development Manager and Development Team
Contribute to concept models and system architectures
Write production-quality code based on functional requirements while meeting implementation deadlines
Work closely with Quality Assurance, Documentation and Customer Support Engineers to implement core application features, custom features, business logic and user interfaces
Interact with Database Team to design data models and construct SQL queries
Build, deploy, and test application components in a development environment during the implementation phase
Create and maintain appropriate documentation during development
Required Skills
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of Java development
1+ years of experience with Spring framework
Experience with Hibernate and/or JPA
Experience building web applications using Java, Servlets, JSP, ExtJS (sencha) JavaScript, HTML, XML, DOM and CSS using Maven
Experience in Object Oriented Development, writing and translating use cases and requirements
Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving experience for implementation, debugging and testing
Experience with Eclipse, Team Foundation Server
Experience writing SQL queries
Experience with web application servers including Tomcat and Apache
Experience with HTML5 and CSS3
Experieince with Selinium is a plus
Experience with Flash / ActionSript is a plus
Experience with iOS, Android and Win7 SDKs is a plus
Ability to work as a team player in a directed environment, but also to operate independently as a self-starter
Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
