Essential Responsibilities
The primary duty of this position is to manage state and local franchise and income tax audits and the Company’s state and local tax Fin 48 calculation.

To that end, the position will need to obtain and analyze tax and book financial and operational information focusing on minimizing potential exposures and maximizing potential tax saving opportunities while properly accounting for the exposures.

Skills necessary include handling multiple projects simultaneously, ability to gather information in a large multi-national company on a timely basis in order to meet deadlines imposed by jurisdictions. Obtaining information includes communicating with tax and non-tax personnel throughout the world and motivating them to respond to information needs.

Job requirements would also include meeting with, presenting information to and getting along with state tax auditors; responsibly facilitating timely completion of audits by working closely with state tax auditors; analyzing state tax audit reports to determine basis of assessments and potential for refund opportunities; researching state and local tax laws and regulations; communicating with auditors to correct errors and resolve issues raised on audit; preparing reports for State Tax Counsel for use in protests and appeals, and attending various administrative hearings. Finally, the position would be expected to review past acquisitions and dispositions and structures to insure proper guidelines and operational matters were properly followed. An internally and externally team oriented personality is key to the success of this job.

Qualifications/Requirements
CPA with 10 to 15 years of experience in public accounting or industry.
Exposure to audit is a plus.
Position requires strong analytical and forensic accounting talent.
Superior computer skills required for data access, analysis and ultimate dissemination both internally and externally.
