The successful candidate will have a genuine enthusiasm for students and the University.POSITION OVERVIEWThe UMKC School of Dentistry invites applications for a Certified Dental Assistant to provide chair-side assistance to residents and Faculty as needed in a multiple doctor private practice setting. Duties include but are not limited to: Perform all functions of a dental assistant including but not limited to procedures such as crown and bridge, amalgams, composites, root canals, extractions, implants, some perio surgeries and any other tasks assigned by the doctors. Should be able to take digital x-rays, have some knowledge of Dentrix software, take excellent impressions and make ideal study models. Expanded functions are preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSA High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary, as well as Certification by the Certifying Board of the American Dental Assistant's Association, and the ability to instruct dental students in preparing them to effectively work with a dental assistant in complete auxiliary utilization.
