The Purchasing Manager will oversee Purchasing Department in administration of on–site functions: development of plans, specifications, estimates, bidding, options, budgets, starts, and rotation schedules. The Purchasing Manager will also serve as liaison to subcontractors and builders, construction operations and sales to deliver quality product on time.

• Bachelors’ Degree, or five (5) years of related experience in the field of Finance / Accounting, Construction Management or Engineering

• Five (5) years of construction purchasing and estimating experience in the homebuilding industry
• Three (3) years of management experience; with direct reports

Technical Skills:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in Excel (Experience in E1 applications preferred)
• Experience with PeopleSoft or equivalent, is preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blue prints and other construction documents. Ability to perform and/or acquire material take-off verifications in the field

• Position requires the ability to manage conflict and resolve problems in a professional manner
• Daily contact with construction personnel and all levels of employees; ability to work with trades and with the public

• Good leadership skills; ability to motivate and direct a staff

• Sound judgment with a high level of integrity to execute decisions with significant corporate/financial impact
• Accurate; with keen attention to detail while staying clearly focused on the big picture

• Analytical; with the ability to give, receive, analyze information, and interpret complex issues in order to determine the root problem and make effective decisions to bring the issue to a successful conclusion
• Highly organized and flexible; with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines, often with frequent interruptions and changing circumstances, in a high-volume
