Ensure safe and environmentally sound field execution of assigned projects while focusing on the application of consistent work processes designed to achieve predictable outcomes. The person in this position will be responsible for the effective transition of projects from the Capital Projects Organization (CPO) Construction Management Group (CMG) Construction Planning Team to the field execution team.

Responsibilities may include:
Lead HSE performance by communicating, fostering, supporting, and enforcing CPAI HSE policies, procedures, guidelines, requirements, and objectives

Promote the use of HSE Leading Indicators, Proactive Measures and Predictive Indicators.

Be an advocate for the Incident Free Culture at every opportunity

Be conversant in and advocate performance in accordance with the CPO Principal Values

Build effective working relationships with the other members of each Project Management Team (PMT)

Lead all aspects of field execution for assigned projects, accountable to CPO Construction Superintendent/Manager and Project Managers / Leaders for the execution of assigned projects

Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for day to day execution for assigned projects

Ensure that all Contractors are fully engaged with Operations and understanding of the requirements and issuing processes for daily/shift safe work permits (i.e. Unit Work, Hot Work, Opening and Blinding, Confined Space Entry, Lockout/Tagout, etc.)

Provide construction expertise during all phases of project development / execution for each assigned project

Ensure that the project plan portrays a “construction based approach” to the execution

Participate in schedule development ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and coordination of activities with other ongoing/upcoming construction projects and field activities

Monitor, evaluate, and manage project schedule progress, and direct adjustments as required to ensure efficient and cost effective execution (i.e. use the project schedule as a tool)

Assist in the development of, take ownership in, and perform to, the control and definitive cost estimates

Actively manage budget, reporting, progressing, incurred cost, earned value, and contract change provisions to achieve the lowest possible cost outcome. Resolve design, materials, and constructability issues as they arise during the execution phase, and effectively implement the CPO Change Management Processes

Assist in the resolution of material shortage, procurement, expediting, and substitution issues

Implement the individual project contracting strategy by participating as a member of the PMT in the formulation of Requests for Proposal (RFP), technical evaluation of bids received, development of evaluation models, and supporting PMT recommendations for award

Lead the implementation of the CMG Readiness Process to ensure that all contractors are deemed “ready” to mobilize (i.e. they are prepared to be successful in all aspects of the job), then manage the mobilization process

Directly manage the field implementation of all construction and support contracts for assigned projects to ensure that all work is constructed in a safe, timely, cost efficient, and contractually compliant manner

Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with CPAI criteria, specifications, and standards and that it meets the client’s expectations/needs

Ensure the effective implementation of contractor quality control/assurance (QC/QA) programs, and support the CPAI QA effort. During the transition of projects through the FEL and Execute Phases, validate previously identified threats to successful construction delivery, and the adequacy of already developed elimination/mitigation plans. During execution, manage previously identified risks in accordance with plans, identify newly arising threats, and implement elimination/mitigation measures designed to minimize the potential impact to successful project delivery

Implement and manage all aspects of the Project Completion System for all assigned projects, including Job Card (progress measurement)


Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions

5+ years experience in oil and gas

Working knowledge of relevant construction codes and standards

High school diploma or GED

Demonstrated leadership capability in oil & gas related construction with a focus on Incident Free Culture

Clearly demonstrated strong technical competence

Demonstrated interpersonal/teambuilding skills

Strong written and oral communication skills

Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment
