Manage patient account operations for SEARHC. Trains and directs staff in billing procedures, accounts receivable, customer service; promotes and supports the SEARHC strategic plan on Native hire and training; provides reports to CFO and finance on a monthly basis.
Manager is responsible for monitoring billing (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and Self Pay) payers, timely filing, f/u, collection of accounts receivable and posting of incoming payments to maximize reimbursement while maintaining compliance with all Federal and State laws and regulations.
Baseline Qualification Requirements:
*Bachelor's degree in accounting, health management, business management or five years relevant work experience in actual billing and actual collections (doing the work).
*Complete courses in the following: Medical Terminology, Data Processing, ICD-9 and CPT Coding or one year demonstrated ability.
*Five years hospital billing, follow-up, collections, including experience in Medicare, Medicaid, Third party billing within a healthcare agency (Tribal health organization preferred).
*HFMA or MGMA membership is preferred.
*Accounting skills are necessary in this position as a good understanding of debits and credits to process adjustments, contractual allowances and processing the accounts receivable, 2-3 years required.
*5010 implementation or post implementation experience.
